Katie Newton

Katie Newton is a native of Aloha, Oregon.  She attended Aloha High School and played Softball, Soccer and Basketball where she earned nine varsity letters, four in softball, three in basketball, and two in soccer.  Her 2013 senior campaign Newton was named the Oregonian Student Athlete of the Year. She went on to play Division I softball in New Rochelle, NY at Iona College – a member of the Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). A four year starter, she ranks high among team records including: 5th all time in at bats (539), 8th all time In hits (156), 2nd all time in seals (32), 9th all time in games played (187). During her time there, she coached many Iona College Softball hitting and infield clinics to both prospects and young athletes. Her senior season, Newton was President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which is established to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athlete’ lives on campus.  Learn more
