Anja Solveig Kane attended Manchester Township High School. A triple-threat athlete all four years earning 10 varsity letters:  softball (4), tennis (4) [2x Captain & 2x MVP], indoor track & field (2), and a JV starter playing basketball freshman & sophomore years.  Having received multiple HS  coaches’ awards, she received the top honor as MTHS’s 2018 Female Athlete-of-the-Year. In high school softball she holds numerous softball records and is in the 100+/100+ Club. She was a Captain junior and senior years and the 2018 Team MVP. Anja was a 2018 Ocean County All-Star and earned awards in 2017 and 2018:  both years (runner’s up) she led her team to the HS South Jersey Group 2 State Sectional Finals [made the 2017 APP All-Junior Shore Conference Team (OF), 2017 APP All-Division Team (OF), 2017 APP All-Ocean County Team (OF), 2017 APP NJ All-Shore Conference (Second Team), 2017 NJ All-Group 2 (Second Team), and in 2018 2x Shore Conference Player-of-the-Week and made the 2018 Shore Conference Coaches’ All-Division team, 2018 APP NJ All-Shore Conference (Second Team), 2018 “B” South Conference Player-of-the-Year, 2018 NJ All-Group 2 (First Team), 2018 NJ All-State (Third Team).

Anja was recruited out of high school and went on to play Division I softball. Choosing Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ, a member of the Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), she played a part in a softball program rebuilding process. Anja played outfield and started for five years, 3x Captain (‘21-‘23), 2x NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete (‘22 & ‘23), 4x (’20-‘23) MAAC Softball All-Academic Team, 4x (’20-‘23) MAAC Academic Honor Roll. Earned the Saint Peter’s University’s Female Iron Peacock (strength and conditioning) award 2x (‘20 & ’22). Helped to run SPU SB in-house clinics for young athletes and prospects. Outside of softball she was an active collegiate student-athlete by volunteering within the Ministry Department in the Campus Kitchen preparing and delivering food (driver of the campus van) to homeless shelters on scheduled days, was a board member of the Sesquicentennial Celebration team. Dean’s List (’20-’22), member of multiple honors societies, and in ’22 received her BS (Cum Laude) in Finance and in her fifth year earned a Masters’ Degree in Quantitative Finance – Honors. Upon graduating she has shared her passion for softball by providing instruction and training to local youth helping them facilitate their growth and love for the game. She is currently employed full time as a Finance Office assistant and is continuing her education in government finance, but will always find the time to coach where needed.
